Bogs Women's Classic Mid Fern Boot Right now

This is my second pair; not because I wore out the first...but because I loved 'em so much I ordered 2 pairs from Amazon; one for the garden and one for rainy days, running errands for the garden, the rare snowy day, etc.

There are many things I like about the Bogs, especially the mid calf version. First, they are totally waterproof. The bottom is slick and the top makes it easier to pull on not only with a "handle" area cut-out, but it remains waterproof in being made of the same thing as my scuba diving boots.

2nd...very comfortable.

They are fun, even if you wear em as rain boots on a dreary day you can't help but look down at these patterns and grin a bit.

They have a thick sole, great for trodding through the muddy garden or puddles.

They are mid-calf. I got this pair and they stay muddy for a huge landscaping project that my backyard is undergoing right now. I like mid calf because we have days over 100 degrees and I can still tromp through high flowers or the prarie behind our home and no longer get scratches on my ankles like my gardening clogs caused, yet the boots aren't knee high and hot in the summer.

and they don't look goofy with shorts and high boots in the garden on hot days.

If you have muscular legs, these hit just below the calves so you can have a strong calf muscle and they still fit fine.

I also noticed they were in my Better Homes and Gardens mag this months as one of their top picks on their list of their favorite garden picks for the year.

Negatives: They don't come in half sizes (I wear a 7.5 but got a 7) and they are pretty steep as far as cost. But they are strong boots; I expect to have em for years.

CONCLUSION: I was gonna buy a pair of knee high rain boots and another pair of gardening clogs but got enough ankle scratches that when I saw these and bought one pair for the garden, I loved em enough to get another pair for mucking about in public. I get compliments often. I love 'em. And I typically buy designer shoes at DIRT CHEAP prices only at TJ Maxx so for me to splurge this much on two pairs of shoes for mud says a lot about em.

Note: If you are a half size, I'd suggest ordering a size up. I am a 7 1/2 and wish I'd gotten an 8. The 7 is too snug.Get more detail about Bogs Women's Classic Mid Fern Boot.
