A friend of mine had bought two pairs of these boots (in black and brown) last year, and I've been drooling over them for over a year. When there was a price drop here on Amazon, I snatched up a black pair -- and absolutely love them! They have a unique Victorian flair, and are absolutely adorable.

Since I teach and am on my feet all day, I usually buy comfort brands like Sofft, Born, or White Mountain so I can make it through the day. I knew that La Canadienne boots were comfortable, but had no idea just how comfortable they really were until I wore these for the first time the other day. After eight hours on my feet, I was so surprised. These are honestly the most comfortable boots (or even shoes) that I have ever worn (and I didn't need to change into my "back-up boots" the first time I wore them)!

That being said, there are some things to be aware of. As another reviewer pointed out, the shaft on these boots is really slim. As a point of reference, my calves are about 13 1/2 inches at their thickest point, and these boots fit my calves snugly (not to the point of being uncomfortable, but they are form-fitting). I imagine that the leather could stretch a bit, but if you have larger calves, I wouldn't recommend them. There is also no way that you could tuck skinny jeans or pants into these, so I wouldn't recommend buying these particular boots if you're after that style.

They also seem to run true to size. I'm usually a 7 1/2 in regular shoes and boots, but sometimes have to go larger in boots. The 7 1/2 in these, though, fit perfectly!

The leather on these boots is seriously the softest leather I have ever experienced. They feel like gloves in how nicely they fit.

The inner lining is also designed for cooler climes, and so if your feet get hot easily, you may not like them. I live in Southern California where it doesn't get very cold, but I'm always chilly and these kept my feet nice and toasty.

Also, the heel on these is stylist, but low enough so that I didn't even feel like I had a heel on. They felt just like I was walking in flats, but provided that nice little flattering lift that a heel gives.

I got these boots in hunter green to wear to MLS games (go Sounders!). Living in Seattle means I've gotten a lot of use out of these outside gameday. They're the perfect height for splashing through puddles confidently at the march to the match, and the color, of course, wins plenty of compliments in that crowd.

Other than that, my feet are slightly under size 8; I wear 7.5 to 8s, depending on the fit, and these are definitely snug across the top of my foot. After 45 minutes of standing and yelling, I usually have to pull the boots halfway off to let the blood flow back in. :) If you would classify your foot as "tall", I would go a size up or to a different brand - but who really knows how "tall" their feet are, anyway? I thought they'd stretch in with use, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

This Sorel boot is a gorgeous purple color, the waterproof leather is of fantastic quality, the inside lining makes this the warmest pair of boots that I have ever tried on (and the best part about the lining is that it's not at all bulky or heavy). The insole is so comfy, and like my other Sorel boots, I could stand in these all day without getting sore feet. For the function, size, and material of this boot--it is surprisingly lightweight (mid-weight). I got a size 8, and these fit true to size and width. This being said, I sadly had to return them because of the awkward height of the boot shaft. I am 5'5" tall, and my pant inseam is 30". The height of the boot stops right in the middle of my calf in a very awkward place: I cannot flex my ankle or walk in them without the top of the boot pushing uncomfortably into my calf. I tried lacing them lower so that the top of the boot was looser, but this did not help. And just as an experiment, I tried wearing them without any laces at all, but still, the height of the boot shaft made it impossible for me to flex my ankle. If you are tall and super long-legged, this pair of boots would be perfect for you! Timberland Pro Women's Titan 6" Waterproof Safety Toe Boot Review

These boots were purchased for use around horses in the pasture and stable. They were comfortable right out of the box. Not the "soft pillow" kind of comfortable, but just a "perfect fit with no discomfort whatsoever" kind of comfortable. They feel sturdy, but no breaking in of the boots (or feet!) were required. Also, they support the ankles nicely without feeling tight or restrictive. They felt a little heavy at first, but within minutes of walking they were hardly noticeable.

They ran true to my normal size in most shoes, but having bunions, many shoes can be unbearable if they're too narrow. Medium, B US in this boot fit perfectly.

I like the length of the laces; just long enough to easily tie a double knot without having a lot of extra lace dangling. Also, these have the type of laces that don't loosen up and come undone while you're walking.

A horse hasn't stepped on the toe yet, so I can't attest to how well this safety toe will hold up to that. I also haven't stepped in a deep puddle to fully test the waterproofing; however having walked through mud, horse manure and tall, wet grass & weeds, the waterproof liner wasn't breached. Debris doesn't seem to get trapped in the ridges on the bottom of the boots, either, so clean up is quick and easy with a damp rag.

The picture, including the color, is 100% true to life. Even though these are steel toed work boots, I think they're very handsome. I highly recommend these boots - they're well made and worth every penny!

I bought these equestrian-styled boots in place of rubber or fabric boots for walking in snow, and they have been fantastic. The heel gives some style and traction, but is low enough to be very comfortable. The fleece/felt lining inside makes it warm enough for outside, but not so hot that you can't wear it inside. Since the leather is waterproof, it is less supple than average, but the leather itself seems high quality and I think it is a little stiff because it is waterproofed. Overall, it is a very comfortable boot, and it being waterproof makes it very useful!

I have thin calves, and can wear it with or without my jeans tucked in. The downside is that it will not fit someone with larger calves. The traction is average. Because the leather is on the stiff side, it wrinkles a little in the ankles, but it doesn't affect the overall style of the boot. I own three pairs of La Canadienne boots. I have formed a lasting attachment to the brand, due to its comfort and properties. Regarding the Felicia:

True to size, if you wish to wear them with thin socks only. You may want to go half a size up, if you wish to wear thick/multiple socks (which you will, in very cold weather), are between sizes, and/or have above average foot width (my feet are slightly wider then "medium" but not quite "wide"). The suede is a bit stretchy, so those with wider ankles will find the style forgivable: yes, you can zip the boot all the way up, despite the seemingly small circumference. The suede is waterproof and repels snow quite well. The rubber sole is firm and grips well on slippery snow. Even thought the sole is thick, the shoe is definitely made for long distance walking. The boot looks quite slim on the foot, and I have even worn it with woolen dress pants. For a La Canadienne boot that is even more suitable for business attire please look up the Julietta. The boots wear well: this is my third season using the same pair.

Once again, I highly recommend the Felicia, mainly for its unbeatable comfort.

I just ordered my second pair of these shoes...the first ones lasted 3 years with LOTS of wear. They are great outdoor shoes with excellent arch support and padded comfort. I ordered both pairs in the next larger size (since half sizes are not available).
