Where To Buy Propet Women's WB023 Snowdrift Walker Boot

I bought these boots from FootSmart through Amazon.com in October of 2009. Within a month, the seam started to rip out. Since I purchased the boots from FootSmart, Amazon wouldn't help me so I called FootSmart. FootSmart wouldn't help me either and told me I had to call Propet. I called Propet and they told me to send the boots back to them and they would replace them. So I sent the boots back and heard nothing. Finally I called Propet and they claimed to have tried to reach me but couldn't tell me when or how. They said at this point, they don't have the boots in stock and won't until September but they can't keep a return open until September and they can't issue me a refund so I'd have to select some other shoes from their website. I don't want or need any other shoes. I want and need boots. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he would have to call me back. He did not. I then contacted Amazon again and once again, they say that they can't help with the boots I already purchased but as a one time concession, they'll sell me another pair of boots at half price. I shouldn't have to pay for any boots again. Don't buy Propet products unless you're prepared to throw your money away.Get more detail about Propet Women's WB023 Snowdrift Walker Boot.

Purchase Sorel Women's Alpha Pac Winter Boot

I purchased these boots in anticipation of the big snow in the Washington, DC area in early February. Amazon service was fantastic. I selected regular shipping to reduce my costs. I purchased them on the morning of February 3rd, and they were delivered on February 5th. I am returning these boots because they are too big -- huge. I normally wear a size 9 and ordered a 9. My calves are normal size, and my ankles are thin. There is about 1.5" extra space in the toebox, and extra room on the sides of my feet, so I felt like Herman Munster when I tried to walk. The boots are also difficult to put on. It took about two minutes to get each boot on -- I'm not kidding. The problem is that they are narrow above the heel, and the elastic strings do not stretch enough for my heel to pass through while wearing regular mid-weight socks. On the plus side, these boots appear to be well made and waterproof. I will search for a different Baffin boot as a replacement.Get more detail about Sorel Women's Alpha Pac Winter Boot.

Order Sorel Women's Joliette Winter Boot

I love this boot so much, this is my second pair in a different color. It is the warmest boot ever. I wore it to an outside winter event when it was freezing and my feet were toasty. Everyone else around me was complaining how their feet were cold. At first they are a bit hard to get on, but they loosen up evenutally. They are a bit larger so I bought a size down this second pair and they fit fine. I just wear thicker socks with the larger pair.Get more detail about Sorel Women's Joliette Winter Boot.

Buying Santana Women's Amanda Boot

These boots are so comfortable and warm! I wear them basically everyday. Waterproof and no problems with leakage at all. I have UGGS but when it is snowing, UGGS literally turn into a sponge, drinking up water and making your feet frozen. So these have become my new staple! I have received many compliments about the way they look ( I have the black ones).Get more detail about Santana Women's Amanda Boot.

Cheapest Kamik Women's Sophia Neoprene Boot

Me and my mother seriously needed boots for the recent blizzard in NYC and my Uggs weren't up for the job.
Of course any water turns them into a cold sponge and I needed something comfy warm and waterproof. These boots are 100%, they feel like my Uggs but are totally waterproof. They are true to size so I'm glad I didn't get a different size like I would normally get. All the softness inside takes up the extra room so you don't need socks or anything.Get more detail about Kamik Women's Sophia Neoprene Boot.

Discount Sorel Women's Sorelli Tall Winter Boot

I bought these after the big snow in Md. I wanted something taller than then the boots I had and waterproof. I like them and I think over time they will stay in style better than a pair of wellies and will be warmer. They are a bit snug at the top. I have large calves but they fit. I was a bit worried. The top circumference of the book is larger than the spec states but not alot larger so if you have very large calves this would be a problem. Otherwise I love them. Thank God it has quit snowing though.Get more detail about Sorel Women's Sorelli Tall Winter Boot.

ara Women's 43537 Paris Waterproof Boot Right now

I favor these tall slim-fitting boots because I'm always out in the rain and prefer something functional as well as stylish. These boots keep you warm and dry and your feet never sweat because the gortex breathes. They have been comfortable to wear without any additional insoles. Note that these are very form fitting and they fit a foot and calf that is an average width but would be too tight on a wide foot or large calf. I've purchased 3 pairs of boots in the last year and these are by far my favorites.Get more detail about ara Women's 43537 Paris Waterproof Boot.

Bogs Women's Classic High Handles Boot Buy Now

Living in New England I've wanting to find a versatile boots that I can wear in snow, rain, slush and mud. All the others I have tried (and I've looked at dozens of boots in the past few months, like Kamik, Sorel or Muck Boots) were either too heavy, too clunky or not high enough. These are THE BEST! I can wear them in the rain, the snow, the slush, the mud and they keep me warm and dry. I'm most likely going to get myself another pair I can't get enough of them! Western Chief Women's Lucky Lobster Rain Boot Get it now!

I loved these boots the first time I saw them & there is no denying that these are VERY cute boots, BUT after wearing them for the past week, the sole is starting to peel. Yes that is right, the sole is peeling. It appears as though there is some sort of fabric that the sole is molded over or something and after ONE WEEK, the sole is peeling. They are cute, they fit great/true to size, but they just don't seem to hold up as well as other brands that I have. It is a shame because these WERE my FAVOURTIE boots. $50 for 1 weeks' wear...not very cost effective.

Vasque Women's Zephyr II GTX Hiking Boot Immediately

This shoe is a great shoe for semi-serious hikers! It takes a little while to break in so be sure to allow enough time before your hike. The high ankle offers great support but takes some getting used to. This shoe is lighter than other full leather boots but is heavier than my previous boot. Again, buy this in plenty of time to break it in and use a high quality sock.Get more detail about Vasque Women's Zephyr II GTX Hiking Boot.

Chooka Women's Tokidoki Leopard Rain Boot Top Quality

I love my boots! The design and craftsmanship are great.
But the boots smell really bad!
Best if you air them out for a few days.
I got stuck in my class and everyone noticed the rubber smell.
They aren't too flexible so not the greatest comfort factor.
They are a bit heavy too so it'll take some getting used to when you walk in them.
I usually wear size 5 but boots I always go one size up.
The size 6 fit fine. I think a size 5 would fit too but a bit more snug.
These are really great for rainy day's though.
Love them but not the smell that goes with it.Get more detail about Chooka Women's Tokidoki Leopard Rain Boot.

Sperry Top-Sider Women's Pelican Boot Review

Nice rain boot. A little tight for me at my in-step so I cannot wear heavy socks with them, but so far I can live with it. Only thin insulation in the boot so they are not for long periods of time in cold weather. Easy on/easy off.Get more detail about Sperry Top-Sider Women's Pelican Boot.

Baffin Women's Musher Insulated Boot

I got this boot to paint outside (pictures, not buildings) in the winter, which means standing still in the snow. As it turned out, the air temp was 10 degrees below zero. My face and fingers suffered, but my feet were warm, and these boots are not as huge as, say, the Cabela Trans-Alaska, so I could climb up and down stairs without turning my feet sideways.Get more detail about Baffin Women's Musher Insulated Boot.

Where To Buy Rockport Women's Porter Ranch Boot

I ordered this boot for a trip to NY. I have extremely high arches and plantar fascitis and Rockports have been the best comfortable boot I've had yet. I wanted a boot to wear under my pants, and although this boot is absolutely beautiful with the suede/leather combo and buckle embelishment...the shaft is too tall and sticks out from under my jeans. It's look cute with a dress or skirt, or maybe skinny jeans. I did enjoy the sherpa lining on the inside and it truly was a beautiful boot. Purchase Sperry Top-Sider Women's Sausalito Boot

Needed a new pair of rainboots. Those darn rubber rainboots are always tearing or leaking and they are never wide enough for my calfs so they tend to scrunch down. In searching around, I caught these on sale at another site for $70. I was hesitant because I prefer a lower heel when traveling to and from work. Turns out the heel height is extremely comfortable. The wide shaft easily fits my wide calf legs with plenty room to tuck in my pants. I did shorten the side ties to make them more accommodating. The shoe part is a tad narrow. My foot is a bit chubby, but I've never worn a wide width shoe. The boots are not at all pinching or uncomfortable, just a bit snug. So I wore them with a very thin sock. However, by the day's end they had already stretched out a bit. Let me tell you that these boots are so comfortable I kept them on all day at work. Didn't bother to change into shoes. My feet stayed perfectly dry in the rain -- and I have actually tried them out in several puddles!!! These boots are AWESOME !!! So happy I took a chance on them and that I caught them on sale, because I would never have considered spending $195 for rainboots. These boots are super comfy and sexy and there is no need to limit them to rainy days. The fact that they are all leather is icing on the cake !!! Not to mention the rubber non-slip sole. I bought these in black and loved them so much I later bought them in yellow, and will buy the red also if I find my size at a great price. I do not have the taupe.Get more detail about Sperry Top-Sider Women's Sausalito Boot.

Buying Cougar Women's Award Ankle Boot

They felt comfy enough but were VERY snug with a thin socks. I don't consider that I have a high instep but I couldn't budge the zipper, and it wouldn't have closed anyway. I don't think a size up would close any better, even if the shoe itself were roomier. Cheap Garmont Women's Syncro GTX Hiking Boot

I bought these for my upcoming trekking trip to Mt Kinabalu in Borneo. I've been training in these and they are fantastic. Very comfortable, they offer great support and stability. I love the rugged sole. I wish they had a toe protector (to protect front of boot, because I keep roughing it up on the rocks and roots), but the Sitka model, which does, was not as comfortable for me. All in all, a well made, rugged boot. And comfort is my priority!Get more detail about Garmont Women's Syncro GTX Hiking Boot.

1.4.3. Girl Women's Raisin Boot This instant

I bought these boots for me, and I had to cut them in order to pull them all the way up. The top is narrow and the foot part is wider than usual 7M. I have normal to large calves, and they don't fit. My daughter got Chooka style boots, and they fit me just fine. When I walk with these boots, they make noise since the rubber is stiff... Discount Yamaha RX-V367BL 5.1 Channel 500 Watt AV Receiver (Each, Black)

We had a very old audio only receiver and were looking to replace it (almost 10 year old technics). We picked up the Yamaha RX-V367, even though there were no reviews, since the receiver was just released, and it was in our price range (200 to 300). So far we are happy with the new receiver; it is connected to the satellite box, xbox, and blu ray.

Speaker set up: Set of Polk Rti8 (left right and center), and klipsch Klipsch Synergy Series SS.5 rear surround (left and right). The sound coming from the speakers was MUCH better than from our ancient receiver.

Not a fan of the Sound Field Programs, seems too much like a gimmick, and only adds an echo depending on what setting (one setting might effect the vocals more, or another setting might effect the music), but I imagine some people would enjoy that. Has many audio processing options, works great with Netflix streaming, set it to 5ch stereo and it will work great; can clearly listen to what's playing (netflix only streams in 2ch stereo). Mainly use the "Straight" audio processing setting (for xbox and blu ray), I assume the receiver doesn't add any extra "audio goo", and plays direct from the source.

Good video quality, no noticeable video deterioration. Yamaha says it's compatible with HDMI 1.4 and will support 3D (with a firmware upgrade). Not that interested in 3d TVs anyways.

Clear and easy to use menu system (compared to my old technics receiver), competent directions, fairly user friendly.

Has 4 HDMI inputs which was much better than many of the competitors in the same price range. We didn't test the FM/AM tuner, and only connected HDMI and RCA from computer. We were also swayed by the extra bluetooth adapter so we can listen to music (and hopefully stream Hulu audio) wirelessly from the computer (and get rid of the airport express). Will update review after getting bluetooth.Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V367BL 5.1 Channel 500 Watt AV Receiver (Each, Black).

I have used a Denon AVR 4800 for some years and wanted to upgrade for uncompressed audio and video switching through HDMI. Shipment came promptly in great condition and this receiver rocks just as hard as its predecessors did. Cheap Yamaha RX-V363BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver

Buying through Amazon is easy and efficient. Thanks for good customer service and delivery ahead of schedule. This receiver is powerful and works great with my Yamaha YSTSW012 8" Front-Firing Active Subwoofer. I purchased it to replace a burned out sub-woofer from my Logitech Z-5500 that also has the amp built in. The remaining surround sound speakers from my Logitech were connected to this receiver to complete the system and the sound is fantastic. The sound quality is awesome and the bass fills my 15X20 room. This is not an easy receiver to figure out. It takes a while to read the manual and tap into all of its features. But, if you want something inexpensive with superb sound quality for your music and movies, I highly recommend this receiver.Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V363BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Buying Samsung HW-C500 AV Receiver

Amazon photo of product is incorrect. The HW-C500 has thumb screw speaker connectors on the back, not the push-tab style as the photo suggests. I'm speculating that the photo Amazon is using here is the sister product HW-C560S.

Other than that...so far so good!Get more detail about Samsung HW-C500 AV Receiver.

Buy Sony STR-DH710 7.1-channel Blu-ray Disc A/V Receiver with 6 HD Inputs (3 HDMI, 3 Component) (Black)

All I wanted was a decent AV reciever that would let me connect my AV devices to my projector with as few cabling headaches and button pushing requirements as possible. I thought I had researched this one thoroughly - I even got the PDF manual ahead of ordering it and read the key sections. But no - it does not do what I want.

For example I want to be able to hook up the kids XBox360 and PS2 and have them switch between them as simply as possible. How hard can that be? So I hooked up the XBox using HDMI (like it recommends in the manual), hooked up the PS2 using RCA (that's all it has) and the projector using HDMI (like it recommends in the manual). Well the XBox works fine but no video from the PS2. It seems despite what it says in the manual (on page 24 where it tells you how to hook up ALL the components), and I quote, "You can watch the selected input image when you connect the HDMI TV OUT or MONITOR OUT jack to a TV". Which obviously means that analog audio/video components must get converted to digital for this statement to be true. But I got nothing. Now maybe Sony aren't very good at English and they didn't really mean you can connect HDMI *OR* MONITOR to your TV. What they really meant was you need to connect HDMI *AND* MONITOR to your TV. But I looked further through the manual to find the small print and sure enough there are exceptions like "An audio signal input to the HDMI IN jack is output from the SPEAKERS jacks and HDMI TV OUT jack. It does not output from any other audio jacks" and "Video signals input to the the HDMI IN jack can only be output from the HDMI TV OUT jack. The video input signals cannot be output from the VIDEO OUT jacks or MONITOR OUT jacks." BUT NOWHERE DOES IT SAY OR IMPLY THE FOLLOWING... "Video signals input to the the VIDEO IN jacks can only be output from the MONITOR OUT jack. The video input signals cannot be output from the HDMI TV OUT jack." I'm not asking for any fancy upconversion or upscaling like some of the higher end AVRs do, I just want my 480i analog signal to be passed through as a 480i HDMI signal. This is a $300 AVR - IT SHOULD BE ABLE TO THAT!!!

So now not only do I have to fork out for another 25' of cabling to get the analog video up to the projector on the ceiling I also have to teach the kids how to fiddle with the projector remote to choose the correct input instead of leaving it locked on HDMI. Plus if I put the projector on auto-input scan I believe that the HDCP link with the XBox is going to fail because the autoscan is too quick. Grrrrrr.

This AVR is pretty disappointing from other aspects too. My 10 year old DE835 is much more 21st century looking and has a motorized volume control with a red LED that actually moves, much easier to see in the dark than trying to read the tiny display from across the room. It has absolutely zero bling. My old one has a two color display, a cool animated LFE meter and a big blue bar that lights up when it's in digital mode. This model has nothing cool at all. It's really boring.Get more detail about Sony STR-DH710 7.1-channel Blu-ray Disc A/V Receiver with 6 HD Inputs (3 HDMI, 3 Component) (Black).

Purchase Samsung HW-C700 AV Receiver

The receiver looks sharp, and that's all it has going for it. I am returning mine. I wish Amazon had a "zero-star" rating because I would have chosen that for the "Design quality" and "Manual" categories.

My components (the first three came as a Samsung "package deal" with 3D glasses):

- Samsung UN55C8000 240hz 3D LED TV
- Samsung BD-C6900 Blu-ray disc player
- Samsung HW-C700 AV Receiver
- Motorola HD DVR (from Time Warner)

My configuration:

- An HDMI 1.4 cable connects the Blu-ray player to the receiver's BD/DVD HDMI input
- An HDMI 1.4 cable connects the HD DVR to the receiver's SAT HDMI input
- An HDMI 1.4 cable connects the receiver's HDMI output to the TV's HDMI2/ARC input
- An optical audio cable connects the TV's audio output to the "optical 3" input of the receiver (this has since been removed)

My issues:

- I originally had my HD/DVR connected to the "TV" HDMI input. The receiver continually "forgot" that I had configured this input for HDMI and kept reverting back to "Optical 3". I use the "live chat" feature on the support web site to get help. The technician literally said, verbatim, "I suggest you use optical then. Is there anything else I can assist you with?" I have since switched to the "SAT" input which seems to remember its configured input setting a little better.

- No matter how I was using the system, if I turned on the Blu-ray player, the receiver would switch to that and abandon everything else.

- There is no HDMI ARC (audio-return-channel) feature on the receiver, even though the Samsung LED TVs all have it. You have to use the optical audio cable to get audio from the TV to the receiver (this is necessary for playing movies downloaded from Netflix or Blockbuster to the TV, playing Internet radio on the TV, playing music from a USB-attched device, streaming music from a PC using "allshare," playing Internet radio on the TV, etc). However, EVEN THIS does not work (see below). (HDMI/ARC allows you to send vidio and audio from your receiver to your TV via HDMI as usual, and ALSO allows you return audio from your TV to your receiver without having to use a separate cable.)

- Playing music from a USB-attached device (feature of the TV) and streaming music from a PC with "allshare" (also a feature of the TV) does not work with this receiver. In fact, ANY kind of audio return from the TV to the receiver - even using old-school phono cables - causes the audio to cut in and out repeatedly - about 3-5 seconds of no sound followed by about 1 second of poor-quality sound, over and over again. The only way to avoid this is to PHYSICALLY disconnect the HDMI cable on the back of the TV. Then it works fine. I have tried every HDMI port on the TV and I have ruled out everything else by connecting JUST the TV and the receiver (and the speakers). Same issue. In other words, THERE IS NO WAY TO GET AUDIO FROM A SAMSUNG TV TO THIS SAMSUNG AV RECEIVER unless you disconnect the HDMI cable between the receiver and the TV. That means you can't use ANY of the coolest features on the Samsung TVs, like watching Netflix/Blockbuster movies, listening to Internet radio, listening to movies or music on a USB device, listening to music streamed from a PC via "allshare," etc.

- The manual is worthless. It doesn't explain anything. It just shows you the sequences of things you'll see on the display when you push various buttons.

- Support is worthless. I was never able to get past the busy signal on their support number, despite speed-dialing for almost 90 minutes, so I tried the live chat feature on their web site's support page. I can't even begin to explain how frustrating the web chat technicians are (read the first of my issues, above). Each time the woefully under-qualified technician couldn't help me (and none of them helped me), I'd get a "please wait" for about 5-7 minutes while I waited for a technician with a slightly higher (but still single-digit) IQ. They asked me inane questions, told me to push buttons that didn't exist (kept saying to push the "PCM II" button, or something like that), had me reset the receiver several times, etc. Each technician seemed to have only one shot at the problem before passing me on to the next fool, which was very frustrating given that I had to wait so long between each one. One technician didn't believe that there was no "PCM II" button and made me type out the labels on all the buttons I could see. Then asked me to double-check after I'd done that.

- As mentioned in another review, this is not a high-current receiver. It's as light as a feather... no heatsinks, etc. That worries me.

Bottom line: this is a terrible product without any redeeming qualities. Samsung obviously rushed this to market so they could push the "Samsung 3D Package" in stores. (I can almost envision a Samsung product development engineer saying, "But, but..." as the marketing guys rush into his lab and grab everything in sight.) Do not buy this receiver. Wait for something better to come along, even if it means putting "3D" on hold.

If this review isn't convincing enough and you have questions about this product (NOT technical support questions), write me at john24hour@gmail.com.

Order Yamaha HTR-6230BL 500 Watt 5-Channel Home Theater Receiver

Unit makes loud popping noises during certain operations of my DVR. Tried 3 separate DVR units, but noises remain. I am sure this is damaging my speakers. Unit was like this out of the box, but I attempted to debug by swapping components and cables on the weekends and exceeded Amazon's return period.

Yamaha will not send a replacement, rather requires shipment at my expense to shady seeming "authorized service centers" 75 miles from my home with no guaranteed turn around. This problem seems specific to cable provider DVR units, so the service center is unlikely to be able to reproduce.

Internet searches reveal I am not alone in this complaint.Get more detail about Yamaha HTR-6230BL 500 Watt 5-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Where To Buy Yamaha HTR-6130BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver

I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on receivers from Sony, Onkyo, NAD, Carver and a few others, but never considered Yamaha...my new philosophy regarding electronics is not to spend over $200.00 on this type of item and if and when something should go wrong, just toss it and start over...Most everything that has emanated from China has a life span of about one and a half years to hopefully three years, however, not likely...products that are manufactured in China usually fall within those parameters, yet, products assembled in China but parts made elsewhere, have a better chance of surviving than those made there.Getting to the point of the Yamaha HTR-6130BL, Yamaha designed a small monster, as it powers through the five point one speakers I have set-up...My last receiver, an Onkyo, only three years old, gave way to that, what I have aptly called, "The China Syndrome." I have no idea what caused it's demise but from day one, it was plagued with functions that never worked or functions that worked but not as claimed or proposed...The Onkyo was four times the price of the Yamaha HTR-6130BL and it never, ever sounded as clear, definitive and powerful as the $200.00 Yamaha...I am and continue to be very pleased with the purchase of this Yamaha receiver. The HTR-6230BL 500 Watt has many functions as well as sound fields, a port for an iPod as well as a Bluetooth Adapter for other Bluetooth products that may be used with the HTR-6130...I am not an engineer nor do I have any extensive electrical knowledge, in testing electronic devices for a HomeTheater environment. What I do have, however, are two ears and I know what I like, which is all anyone needs to have in rating this type of equipment...For the price, I could not have found a better, more well-equipped receiver and the outlet that sold it, Discount Jungle, was as welcoming and helpful as could possibly be. Amazon and it's Marketplace of retailers is the only way to go and with Yamaha quality and engineering, it is a perfect marriage. I shall surround myself with Yamaha electronic equipment from this point on. Quality, price & features form the framework of this great company.Get more detail about Yamaha HTR-6130BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Shop For Denon AVR790 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity

What an upgrade from my previous system- excellent surround sound with the Audyssey EQ. A great value for the sound alone, but also has upscaling/upconverting Analog to HDMI and HDMI to HDMI, to 1080p. My 7.1 is set up with surrounds in the back, but you have the option of front height speakers instead.

Hard to set up if you use the manual alone, so make sure you get Batpig's on-line guide (search "Batpigs Denon") and also read through the AVS forum owner's thread. The extra time it takes to understand the system and how to set it up is well worth it.Get more detail about Denon AVR790 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 85-Watt x 7.1-Channel High Performance Home Theater Receiver (Black)

Having replaced my venerable HK AVR 80-II with the 3600, I am very disappointed. The Bridge (iPod dock) is inoperative telling me that it is "not connected". The lighted volume control is a ridiculous feature. The interruption from satellite sound is annoying. Worst of all is that FM reception is a far cry from that of the old unit.
Today the 3600 is going back.

Yamaha RX-V665BL 630 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver Review

I needed a second receiver for my kids tv and I didn't want to spend a ton of cash. I found the Yamaha RXV665 at Electronics Expo and saved $162.22 and the shipping was free! My needs were for a good 7 channel receiver for movies and their game system and I really didn't want to get a cheap receiver that would die in less then a year. The 665 may not be as good as my Pioneer Elite but it is a well built and for $317.72 shipped it does a far job.
I'm using a old pair of JBL speakers with a Velodyne VX10 Subwoofer and it does a good job on movies and the video games sound great. The coupon I used at checkout was WS901X5750(it's kind of crazy, to see the discount you have to go all the way to the end of the check out to see the discount). If your looking for a solid receiver at a great price check out Electronics Expo and take a look at the RXV665 and don't forget to use the coupon!Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V665BL 630 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Belkin PF60 PureAV™ Home Theater Power Console - Black Top Quality

I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to adequately protect my home A/V configuration, but I'm glad that I finally found the Belkin PF60 to do the job. One rule of thumb I've seen is to invest roughly 20% of your total equipment value in power protection. That may be a good marketing ploy for high-end equipment vendors, but I honestly can't see why I would ever need more protection than what the Belkin PureAV PF60 offers. Belkin offers a $500,000 connected equipment warranty for the lifetime of the product to the original purchaser.

There is a lot to like about this unit:
- Level 4 surge protection with automatic over-voltage cutoff (7116 Joules - 369,000 Amp max spike current)
- Belkin Phase 6 electrical noise filter
- 13 power outlets, configured in 6 banks of 2 (rear) and one in the front (behind a protected door) including one bank for high-current devices (Amplifiers, Receivers)
- each of the 6 banks are electrically isolated, minimizing interference between components
- each of the 6 banks can be configured for always-on, switched, or switched with delay
- switched outlets can be controlled from the front of the unit, or by a remote trigger (12V DC in)
- front LCD status display shows line voltage and current (Amp) usage for the entire unit, or for each of the 6 banks
- 12v DC remote trigger output for additional components
- extremely heavy duty (10AWG) 10-foot power cable, with right-angle plug
- nice form factor, size, and styling fit well in my home theater configuration

What's missing? Unfortunately, a few key items that the Belkin PDF manual (on their support site) would indicate are included:
- no Ethernet or phone jack protection
- no AC power cord for remote trigger (luckily, there is a standard 1/8" mini 12V DC port)
- no mounting hardware for rack mount

There are also a few annoying things:
- there is no option to completely turn off the LCD backlight, although the dimmest level isn't too distracting
- after a complete power failure, the PF60 doesn't remember its settings. Since I use the remote 12V trigger for switched outlets, after a power failure, I have to manually hit the "Remote" button on the front of the unit. And, I have to reset the LCD backlight down from its brightest default.

But, in all, considering the performance and other features, at this price point, it's hard not to like the PureAV PF60. In my configuration, I did notice a slight improvement in video quality, especially with analog inputs. And that is saying something, as I don't generally believe in cable "voodoo". And that alone is worth the investment, beyond the essential component protection.Get more detail about Belkin PF60 PureAV™ Home Theater Power Console - Black.

Yamaha RX-V765BL 665 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver Immediately

The yamaha RXV765 is a pretty good receiver but I just returned mine and went with the Denon AVR1910. The Audyssey MultEQ , On-screen display , Audyssey Dynamic EQ are a killer. I even think it has a little more power, low level detail is much better. I used the coupon code WS901X5750 at [...] and my discount was $181.27 so I got this shipped for $396.72!. The AVR1910 is worth looking at.Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V765BL 665 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver.

Yamaha RX-V2065BL 7.2-Channel Network Digital Home Theater Receiver (Black) Best Quality

I went and demo'ed the V2065 vs the V1065 at my local Fry's. Basically the sound quality was similar but the extra features are what drove me to the V2065. The YPAO feature is huge timesaver in terms of setup. Tons of other cool features. The only con I have found so far is that most universal remotes do not work with the unit as all the standard Yamaha codes dont work. I ended up getting a logitech Harmony remote for other reasons so no big deal.Get more detail about Yamaha RX-V2065BL 7.2-Channel Network Digital Home Theater Receiver (Black).

Denon AVR1910 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity Buy Now

I recently replaced a defective Onkyo receiver with this Denon model, and boy am I glad I did.

Set up was extremely easy:

Speaker wires - as with all receivers, this was the trickiest part. If your wires all have solid pins on the end, it will take moments to connect them. Many of mine are just twisted wire coming out of the plastic casing tho. That takes a bit more effort, but this is true with all receivers.

HDMI inputs - There are four of these. I used them for satellite box, a Sony 400 DVD changer, and my Blu ray player. They all worked perfectly, unlike the Onkyo I replaced.

Optical inputs - I believe there is only one of these, and I'm used to more. However, some of the devices that I used to use optical for I'm now using HDMI for. As it turned out I needed only one optical, for my CD player, so this worked out.

There are also sufficient other inputs, including many Left/Right stereo pairs. I hooked up everything I had, which was a Blu Ray player, a Panasonic DVD/DVR, a JVC CD six pack + 1 player, a Sony 400 CD player, a Sony 400 DVD player, a turntable, the Satellite receiver/DVR, and a VCR. There were inputs for at least a few more devices if I'd needed it.

Setting up the 'software' side of the receiver amounted to this:
I plugged in the mike. The receiver immediately displayed the set up on my TV, and led me thru it. Once done with that I spent about two minutes manually setting input labels to the device inputs I'd used, and I was done. Incredible.

Sound from this receiver is beautiful. I've owned every major brand at some point in time, and this is the best quality sound I've ever heard coming out of my speakers. Is there better out there? I'm sure. I've never spent top end money on a receiver, but I've always bought in the $350 to $500 price point, so I've never owned chopped liver, either.

Make sure to check the posts below to find the coupon code from Electronics Expo. I stumbled across that and got $190 off the price, making this a thrifty as well as a most enjoyable home entertainment purchase.Get more detail about Denon AVR1910 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity.
